Post 1987 Toyota

I need help urgent I have a 1987 Toyota 22r 5 speed it has been sitting a while and I've tried to get running correct. I rebuilt the carb with a kit from oreillys it seemed to go together fine but the truck will only run with a rag stuck in the carburetor once removed it dies out I am out of ideas I've checked for vacuum leaks and found a few that I replaced lines on it, but still the same thing if you put a rag to choke it it will run for hours flawlessly any help please?

Choke not working or a huge vacuum leak. Covering the carb with the rag lets it start like a choke. Will it run warmed up?

It will run warm only if you have it choked with the rag

Maybe someone with some 22r experience can chime in here. I just know how things work and not the specifics of the 22r carb.
My guess would be a vacuum leak or mis-adjusted idle mixture if it does not run without being covered warm. having it covered is restricting your air intake and compensating for the air coming in at another point such as a vacuum leak or idle mixture.

Can you snap a few pics of the carb and post. I know that there is a large vac hose on my 22R carb that it will not run without. But I agree it seems like it is not getting gas if choking it keeps it running.
