Well over here (UK) we often refer to Americans as "Yanks" regardless of which part of the States they come from and when that flag is attached to a car it is mainly seen as a way of identifying a car as American. We don't normally give your civil war a second thought.

Pure and simple ignorance.
Heritage baby, all heritage. just because you were born in america, do you forget your heritage? do scotland, or ireland, or europe, or whever completely leave your mind, and you aren't proud of your heritage? Well, my friend, thats your loss, we here in the south are proud of our heritage, and the War of Northern Aggresion doesnt really figure into this debate about the doors at all.

That looks nice man and the flag is a cool touch

And that has to do with what were talking about here?

Its a flag and its actually a pretty danged good lookin flag, there is no reason to not like it at all. The war is over and done with over 150 years ago, we dont need to drudge it up. If you do research it tho, you will find out it was actually the north and their economics and industrialization being forced on the South that started it.

Good start to your half doors,

~You could do the flag thing but with the same colours as your truck.

I think in contrast to the drab/flat colors that it contrast well , kinda lends the trk some definate personality

Thanks, I also agree that they look good, and you must have been reading my mind! I also thought about doing them OD and flat black like my truck. I guess great minds think alike!

OMG , its History man ...........Heritage .............its not a symbol of how we live or think , its not a statement that we do not embrace the USA by liking or portraying a historic flag that may be different from the present .
My thought is that your displaying of history in this fashion does not indicate your personality/moral beliefs but I do believe those that assume ones beleifs/morals by this paticular historical symbol are in far more trouble and opinionated than most who enjoy its symbolism historically.
What a shame we assume that a part of history could be grounds for labeling someone less Patriotic or Prejudice , sometimes I believe those who make it a point to negatively comment or "assume" are the ones who still posess some or both of those traits .

Just my .0005 cents worth .

The Confederate Flag is no less a piece of all of our lives here than any other Historical Time but its a shame everyone relates Prejudice with it and I mean Prejudice of any kind , shape or color.
