Our 85 4runner will start but as soon as u let off the gas it dies. There is no idle. What could be causeing this...
Also my husband and i took out the t case then cleaned it and put it back in. Now it shakes really shakes. it also is in 2 h but with the gas to the floor it bearly putts along. Please help. It was running fine before we took out the tcase. When it was put back in it stopped idileing and we ren into the running problems

The only Wire taken Off was the 4x4 Light wire on the T-case. The truck had 185000 before a new engine last month so we made sure and changed the fule filter which was DIRTY but not the source of the problem. I have had suspiciouns that the Cold start Injector was going bad because when I fist got it back it was running ruff when I first started it up but then No problem once warm. Which confirmed my thoughts about it being bad.... I wounder would the fuel pressure regulator cause a problem like this??? It was running great a week ago minus the hick up at starting which I belive was the CSI... Now it starts but Runs like crap and will not idel..

may sound odd but you may have a bad o2 sensor or do you have an exhaust leak around your manifold? I had a bad o2 sensor that I replaced and also a leak right after it at the flange end of the manifold and once replaced ran and idled like a champ. Before the change it was a very sputtery idle....
