I've been working on my 85 Runner again, and found this metal panel. I can't figure out what it is for or where it goes. I have two of these panels.

i have an '86 4runner, that panel doesn't look familiar to me.

there is a rear seat delete panel, but i think that it's one piece, wider than that.

Is it the tin reinforcing plate from underneath the upholsered pad on the tailgate??
