Hi, I am really in need of some tech help. My1985 solid axle 1st gen 4runner needs a rear e/brake (handbrake cable) but unable to get one here in UK. Does anyone know if a Mk2 Hilux Pick up cable will fit.
My supplier has found the part number for the cable but Toyota say no longer available.

 

Will RockAuto ship to UK? If so, they have the parking brake cable for a 1985 4Runner listed on their site, they are aftermarket, not OEM.

 

Hi Cory. I seen that and I can get one in UK, but they say the SR5 is different. I don't know why its different.

 

I ordered a MK2 Hilux Pick up rear cable yesterday afternoon, it just arrived. Side by side they look the same. As long as the outer cable is the same length I can adapt the inner to suit. Image to show damaged section of old cable.

 

I modified the Mk2 pick up hand brake cable and all woks fine.
