Unplugged TPS on 22re

Any reason why it's a bad idea to run with your TPS unplugged?

My TPS is bad, truck runs and revs out great under no load (ie in neutral) but will not rev above 2k rpm under load (ie driving down the street).

BUT it drives perfect with the TPS unplugged!

Could I be doing damage to the FI system or the motor in any way? Yes I'm a cheap bastard.

I liked the way my engine was running without a working TPS(unplugged runs the same). I swear I was gettin' better gas mileage before I fixed it. It has made my idle super smooth, I like that.

I noticed a huge change in the way it accelerated. It was like before my foot had to do the job of the TPS. Not sure if that sounds right, let me say it like this. I had to constantly change my pressure on the gas pedal to keep a constant rpm without it. With it my pressure on the peddle doesn't have to change as much as before to stay at a steady rpm.

No, you can't hurt nothin' without it. I ran mine like that for almost 3 years.
