What color is the trim supposed to be around the windows, looks like it was chrome but got painted black over it?

Thanks for the help guys.

are they original dealer installed, maybe. are they toyota brand, i will go with NO. my towing mirrors have plastic pieces where the bolts go thru between the bracket and the body, and the top piece says Toyota molded into it. you do not appear to have these plastic pieces, nor is your mirror housing or bracket the same shape as mine.

the black around the door windows, i haven't figured out what is the pattern there. some are painted black and some are body color. mine are body color, and i have vent windows also.

all the pictures i have found of sr5's have these small little black mirrors, almost look like they belong on a miata or something.

The trim on mine is like half chrome, half black on mine.

Toyota definitely did make mirrors like you've got back then, but it sounds like tj884Rdlx has a good picture of what it would look like if they were Toyota, so they may be aftermarket. Lot's of 1st gens had those style mirrors, though, if not those exact mirrors.

i like em, i was just curious, got the little spot mirrors on them as well. Makes merging in traffic a breeze especially with my dirt bike in the bed

Got some just like those on my 85 ext cab and have had them on several other Toyotas.
Probably a dealer installed option.

what about rear bumpers? they have a factory bumper?

reason i ask is i got a pic of basically what my truck woulda been stock but it doesn't have a bumper an kinda like the way it looks but would rather have protection of a actual bumper there.

The 1985 brochure shows a truck with those mirrors. The window frame on my gray SR5 truck is black, while the red Deluxe truck the frame is red. On my red deluxe, there is a black trim piece covering the rain gutters and on my gray, there is a chrome trim piece.

Factory options for a rear bumper was a chrome contoured (chrome cap which was worthless), gray step, or matte black tube (single oval) bumper.

since i happened to have my camera at work today, i ran outside to snap a pic of this version. see 'toyota' under the rusty bolts? i added the convex of course. it's interesting the bracket is black but the housing is chrome, more bug resistant?

I am not possitive, but I think those mirrors may be from a older FORD truck.

Maybe not but I had an older ford truck that had mirrors identical to those in every way.

Those are the factory original mirrors... they were called "Camper Mirrors" and were an option... yours is the first I've seen with the little plastic toyota trim lip my 87 had those mirrors and the picture in the owner's manual did not show any trim so I would say the trim was a feature on the earlier trucks that was deleted.

the standard mirror was the little wing type everyone is familiar with...

The little black plastic grommet thing under the support that says Toyota. My truck had been painted before I got it so it may have been tossed by the po if it ever had one...
