Shock Question
Im almost done my huge project. I now have an 85.5 Pickup. i bought the truck for $500 with a massive amount of frame rust. I had to weld the frame 5 times in 2 weeks Broke in half Twice. At first i Regret buying the truck untill i found an 86 pickup with a blown motor but a Great Frame. So, long story short, i Swapped the 85 motor, trans/case, front Axle, cab, and bed on to the 86 frame. I did the SAS and While i was under there i installed All Pro 6" Spring. Now my question is the Shocks? i dont know what size i should use Nore how i should mount the rear shocks to get the most Flex and use of the springs. Any Help would be Great thanks...........Joe

well what i did to find out what size i needed is i measured where they mount center to center "bolt hole to bolt hole" then measured with my wheel at full stuff then at full droop. then just added an inch or two to that measurement.
as of mounting the rear shocks, its easiest to mount them factory, but i mounted mine at an angle from the top of the housing to a bar between the frame rails like this / \

Thanks, yeah i kinda dont want to mount them in stock position because i dont think i would get the most out of my Travel/Flex, And i dont want to put them at the wrong angle and have 2 much body roll, Ya Know? when i look the space between the axle to the tube it dont look like there is going to be enough room to put long shocks on there. i guess im gonna have to go with it and if its wrong redo it.
