Worth anything as a parts car?s

Friend's 370,000 mile '85 2wd extended cab 22RE overheated on the freeway and he had to keep going for a while. The small hose coming up right next to the thermostat housing blew. It overheated pretty good. He fixed the hose and it runs, but from his description, I'd say at least the head gasket is blown if not the head itself. He's planning on limping it over to the junkyard where he says they'll give him $25.

He's owned it since new. Has new radiator within last 6 months. Body looks good. Has some ugly mag wheels and wide tires. Has a plastic bed liner.

I'd rather see Toyota enthusiast rescue it from the junkyard death, if only for parting out. Located on McChord AFB, WA.

a couple hundo easy for parts as long as it hasn't been in a fire or something.

 

Dont kill it! You can get more then that. I would buy the whole thing if I was local and build a prerunner or something. I would put it up for sale in craigslist for like $500 and see what happens.

 

x4 you can easily make more than $25 parting it out. I'm sure it will got for $500, especially round here it would be gone in less than a week.
