man i know! i was pissed they took the brake pedal. how lame. thing is i reset my miles when i drive it and they only drove it about 20-30 miles in a week. and they offroaded it cuz they crashed it. and it was dumped about 10 miles out of town. so they were pretty close to my house. and belive me, if i found them or find out who it was.. i will be armed when i meet them.

Keep an eye on Craig's list...and ebay. Check around at some shops as well.

I noticed they took the lenses out of the corner lights but left the housing? I don't think they were all that experienced in stripping. Cab light is just silly

the tranny should be a W56 if it came from EFI and I think a G52 if its carbed. THe R150F is either from a turbo 22RE or a V6... don't recall.

But man this scares me. I live in Cali and I just park the topless 4Runner outside the mall, outside my 8 hour shift at work, out on the street at night. I'm installing a kill switch!

spot on with the trannys. i called marlin and thats what they told me. yeah happened in cali. i used to leave doors unlocked till i got crap taken out of it then this in my front yard. im buyin a 83 that has a 86efi and tranny that was put in it so i can pull them out and stick them back into my 85. when that happens i will have lo jack in it and a kill switch.. id like to see them steal it then.

Selling any parts?

I would love to have that (EFI?) fuse box on the right front fender behind where your battery should be. I thing you will need the newer one on your newer motor.

Let me know

sucks living here in Cali,

I have had my car stolen 3 times, and my truck stolen once..

Car and truck have some stuff to keep it from being stolen. But here in San Diego if they really want it the thieves bring a tow truck.

not sure how they took it. maybe popped clutch. i dunno. does not look like my key hole is messed up but maybe they just used flat head. yeha i love(d) my truck. i will get that 83 hopefully and i hope everything switches over easily. as far as parts i dunno what i will have left over. but when im done i will post them on here for sure. i think ill pull both fenders off and go with fiberglass. i dunno what else. the guy helping me get the 83 going and do the swap i told him i cant pay him but if he wants ill give him the 83 rollin chasis when were done and he was very excited. so i figure thats a good deal. lifted susp and tires and body on a good frame for free. just a few lost saturdays

For the life of me, I do not know why people steal so many Toyota trucks out west. I see many threads on this subject. These trucks aren't worth anything for the most part. For the most part, you probably could not give away Toyota trucks here in the northeast. Who wants to steal a rusted Toyota truck? Maybe that is why that do not steal our trucks over here!LOL! Good luck!

Also be on the lookout for someone in your area doing an auto to manual trans conversion. I believe that is why they stole your brake pedal.

James

here in cali a 86 pickup is like the 6th most stolen vehicle. my dad thought i was crazy when some guy asked if i wanted to sell it and i said 5000. then i showed him like 4 for sale for 4500 and he was shocked. such a junk little truck can be so valuable. i should just buy another that runs and build on it. but.. this is my baby.
