Power window switches
Wasnt having any luck finding a thread on this topic. My girlfriend just picked up an ‘85 pickup fully loaded package. Chrome trim, sunroof, power windows, cruise, everything! Including the “sr5” pattern seats. Cost $15k new from the thousand oaks, ca toyota dealer! Really clean interior. The power windows are giving us problems. First off, the passenger window switch on the master is reversed. Down rolls up and up rolls down but the passenger side is normal. The master switch works when it wants on the passenger window. The passenger window switch was black plastic (chinese repop?) and the button popped off and broke. I had a replacement one and plugged it in but only rolls up. I plugged my switch in from my truck and it worked aside from being reversed.
Question is....is there a way to fix the master switch so it functions every time? I know the dome light, you need to replace the rivets or smash them to make contact again. Would that work on the window switches?

Are all the contacts cleaned? I know when I first got my '86 I couldn't roll the passenger side window up from the master panel. The passenger side switch worked just fine, up and down. I ended up replacing the whole master switch...
However, being that yours is backwards, could mean that it was wired wrong. I'd verify with an FSM wiring diagram to be sure.

It sounds to me like someone did some wiring repair and crossed up some connections, you need a diagram and maybe you will be able to repin the connector at the main switch (swap 2 wires).

Sounds like the right switch some how got installed wrong .
Toyota switches are plug and play if the right switch was one switch fits all and needed to have a plug wired on
In neutral the right switch contacts are back wards.
Easy to check before pulling every thing else apart
With these trucks no telling what you might find .

yea. Seems pretty straight forward. Just need to get another passenger switch and tear into it again.
