Hi, i have a 85 toyota 4runner 22re PO said it had 10,000 miles with a CA legal cam and and a long tube header. It pops and hesitates for like 1 second on acceleration off idle. It gets better once the engine warms up but it does every once in a while. If i turn it off and turn it back on it will do it, and it does it bad when i first start the engine in the morning. the egr was cleaned and i removed the intake manifold and cleaned it out as well.

 

Pops? So it still does it once the engine warms up but just not as often?

 

Correct, but i guess its more of a backfire because it hesitates.
