Oem factory winch

I just picked up this 1985 4runner a few days ago. While looking at the ad my buddy mentioned that the winch on the front was factory.
I never knew that was an option. While thumbing through the manual sure enough theres a page or two dedicated to it.
Just thought I would share a couple picts. Still works too!

Pretty cool. I've read about them in various publications, never seen a picture. How is that brush guard/bumper/winch mount mounted to the truck? Is it soley mounted to the bumper? If so I'd be worried about the winch pulling the bumper right off the front of the truck.

I wonder if it was intended to be used for recovery or "work", e.g. moving a log out of the way, etc. It looks pretty undersized even for a light truck.
Very cool that A. It was ordered and is still on the truck and B. That it still works!

Just went and checked out how its mounted. Theres the two bolts to the bumper that you can see and the bottom bolts into the front leaf spring eye holes.
Im guessing this is more of winch for work and not pulling the truck out.

Hopefully the winch would stall before it pulled the mount and front bumper clean off of the frame.

Can you take some close up pictures of any labels or markings on it? Just curious since I've never seen one.

The foil sticker that wraps from the top to the front portion of the motor is sun faded. Theres no ink left. Only ghost images of type.

You can still get the OEM caution plates for cheap. Just don't look at the price for the OEM winch.
