Yes you can run a high pinion 3rd in the front axle. But you said you already bought a low pinion? Kinda to late now.

I just placed the order this weekend, so I can call and change it. Is there anything special I would have to do to convert my 85 straight axle into the high pinion?

I just find it weird that the HP would bolt right into the 4cyl 8" housing no issues, and the complete HP thrid isnt cheap so i just want to make sure there isnt any issues or instructions that i am missin. I have been searching for answer but always seems to never be straight forward.

It will bolt right in, with 5.29's you may have to rotate the ring gear slightly when you install it

I believe the high pinion requires a different gear set than standard thirds.

Are you having someone set up the gears for you?
Setting up gears is kind of an art from IMO, especially when throw an ARB and routing the inner copper tube..
