Nope those are stock chevy springs. Its all in the hanger position and shackle angle. I ran the hangers all the way to the end of the frame wich made the shackles sit alittle straighter and also kept the truck almost level. But i don't have the hard top so i don't know how much it would change with that weight on it.

That doesn't matter. It's how the suspention sits. Scotties springs are mounted differently than mine resulting in a lower ride height.

I think 33's is the way to go. Looks way better. Nice truck though and I dig the top.

I can see what you mean about the 33's. 31's wouldn't work with 4 inches of lift...
I will plan on that route, thanks for the pic demo Windedwalrus. Plus, I like that top! Looks like the supports are in a better spot than the one I have. Mine bother my passengers... good thing I am not back there. lol
I am going to pic up the Chevy's today. I have a pullapart really close to me so shouldn't be an issue. Then in a couple weeks I can get the hangers. I don't have a welder that I can borrow for a few days so when I get one I need to make it count. So moving the hangers probably won't work. But, probably better to get new ones anyway. I think that is what Specialscottie did anyways... I'll have to re-read his thread.
Plus, I have to figure out a plan for my Hi steer and my drive shaft.... One thing at a time I guess.
Oh, just did 1400ish miles this weekend. wedding up in NY. Starting to become a fan of this 22re! Actually, I think it runs better now. :S

I've heard this can be dangerous, and the shackles could invert in extreme situations. If you're welding the fronts, might as well weld the rears

That's what i would do anyway!

i've heard that too but some people love that setup. But i agree if you're gona do it and have the welder might as well move the shackle. Plus the chevy springs are wider so you are gona need a new front hanger.

Are you talking about a double shackle? I have thought about that but didn't know how that would work out. I have read that people either love it or REALLY hate it. I thought it would make a really rough ride.... It is going to be a daily driver eventually.
I would like to hear from some people who have done that Double Shackle stuff, and tell me what you think about it...

Thanks for the help WindedWalrus. Going to probably get both front and rear parts. I am looking at that double shackle and I see that it is pivoting on the frame. As that shackle moves I would think that it would eventually wear into the frame... Saw some hangers on trail gear.

54 bucks for both front hanger, and rear shackle mounts.
Pretty good price.. Going to make sure it is going to fit the chevy springs first tho..

After I do the rear, I am probably going to just let it sit, and try to build my front springs like 4crawler did. He did a few setups. Thanks to him, I will probably hit the correct setup sooner rather than later. He tried so many different options.

hmmmmmm.... That might be the smart thing to do...

Better to go with a kit, to make sure you have everything, since when I get a welder it will be a borrowed one... Better make the day count.

Gonna read into that.
Thanks Philbert!!

No problem i'm always down to help a fellow yota owner. The trail gear hangers are for the long travle springs they sell wich are 1/2 narower than the chevys. I used the sky kit on my truck, the parts where very well made and the price was right.
