Hi I have a 1985 4Runner 22re and My tailgate was badly rusted probably beyond repair.

Any way since then it has been hit and the glass broke at the same time.

I am looking for a new - aftermarket tailgate does anybody know where I can get one?

I'm not too concerned whether its Metal or fiberglass but maybe some thoughs would be helpful.

I havew looked through the forum and on the web for after-marketers who sell these with no luck.... suprising since these tailgates are notoriously rusty I thought it would be easy to find replacements....

I fellow Yota driver said I should be able to find an after market opne for about $100 but the only thing I have found is an aftermarket tailgate at Lordco but it is for the pick-up truck...

there are no 4Runner gates avaliable .. used is your only option .

http://www.toyotafiberglass.com in BC has a rear repair skin .. but no inner shell yet .

 

I think you're gonna be stuck with used/salvaged
