need new exhaust, suggestions

Here's what i've got. I'm missing the exhaust from the muffler back and the muffler where it attaches is rusted to hell and tore a hole in it where the exhaust fell off (something like that, happened before I owned it). I was looking at exhaust kits and headers. Figured I may as well put a header on there while I'm at it. Right now some exhaust is getting in the cab while driving (SOB). I'm not looking for something that will make my truck sound really loud, my car already does that (93 300zx) and it gets annoying when I drive it all the time.

What are some suggestions on headers and exhaust systems or should I just go the junk yard and see if I can find a stock ones that isn't completely rusted out?

My exhaust is in the same sort of shape, and I'll be replacing it from the header back soon as well.

I was thinking about an LC engineering header ($$) with a custom 2.25" exhaust welded at a muffler shop. A Flowmaster muffler and a hi-flow cat would round out the job.

I was thinking of building mine also. I can weld and my neighbor has a pipe bender. Did you go 2" all the way? Did you use the stock header?

It would definitely save about $300 roughly

couldn't you just get rid of the cat?

You said it sounded pretty good? I was thinking maybe 2.5". Are you using pipe (measured by Outside diameter) or tubing (ID)?

I was thinking flowmaster of the muffler you suggested.

How did you go about joining it to the header? Did you fab up a connector plate that you welded on the the down pipe?

3" is a bit big for these lil trucks. Keep it about 2.25 I would not go bigger than 2.5 ID. I'm running 2.25 from the manifold back (well from the tiny Y collector back), no cat and a cheep ebay muffler. I can across some schedule 40 so that's what I made it out of. You really don't need a header, only if you really want it.

I was going to ask the same question.

I'm gonna go with 2.25 tubing, magnaflow muffler and i'm still undecided on which header I want.

If I was to do a swap it would be the 3.4

my dad did he say for the 2 more pistons i was telling him to a 3.4 and supercharge it
but the 3.0 is good for a daily driver but i know the 22re is good or maybe the best for off road
