I will then be able to test the flex & decide where I want the new hardware to mount the shocks, & determine shock length. One this is done I will be wheelable for SE4RJ3. Still a long way from where I want to be with the truck, but trail useable & a solid platform from which to build.

Frame welds are done, just have one small spot left to do, no biggie.(see 1st pic)
Big thanks to Rocky at Blanton Iron Works for the work & actually letting me help and learn a few things in the process...
Pics taken with my new Canon Powershot A620:

So now the step bars are off & for sale cheap, just make me an offer, I need to cover shipping and make a few bucks on the side...

Here is how she sits as of today...

She hated my 1989 4runner.

Springtime in the South is truly beautiful. I know I am post-whoring with the new pics, but I just got a new digital cam- so now, everyone can see how much work I have to do on my rig...
I should have kept that 1989....

If you mean the sunroof, it was stock. The soft top was a Kayline (now owned by Specialty Top Company).

Nice man, that '89 was beautiful why did you sell it? I've been busy so I just now saw all those pics you posted up. What are your next plans now that the frame is done?

Now that the frame is done, I have to get a working suspension installed in time for the jambo. Probably not enough time to do what I want, but I have to take this thing on the run. I am looking to put a set of shocks on it, test the articulation, get a spare, & head to the jambo as is. I will be trailering it up, so if I break something, swear a lot, trail fix it & load it back up.
I really want to get some ideas from some of the more experienced guys on a permanent suspension setup while I'm there, and I think that would best be done by actually looking at the truck. Once I do that I can come home & build it right.
Oh- the new cam is a Canon Powershot A520. I love it.
How's your rig coming?

It's coming along, im hoping to get the buggy leafs installed tonight... They are all primed & painted, im lacking bushings though. I think i might just throw the old ones in it for now until my next big order from Trail-Gear. Once I get the the windshield in im gonna re-work the rear springs (maybe this weekend)... Im gonna copy my buddies set-up that he just did, the link in my sig. if you want to check it out then.
**My threads been updated with a bunch of pics, I forgot the cage pics though...

So you're prob not gonna make it to Tellico? That sucks if you can't.
I'm seriously thinking after Tellico of taking off the 39.5's in favor for some 35's. I would save the boggers for mud runs & I know the axles would hold up better with 35's. I know I'm just asking for breakage with the boggers on now under hard use.

Not this year... Next year I plan on going to alot of events but right now I don't nearly have the set-up i'd like to have. I'm trying to get all the small petty ÅÅÅÅ out of the way before I leave for basic May 24th. That way when I get out (of basic) I'm gonna order tires (38 - 39.5), and the 5:29 diffs with and arb for the font and prob. a detroit or spool for the rear. I'm hoping to order the dual t-case adapter with the income tax for the cases and 4.7 gears for the second t-case and have that set-up to just install after basic as well... After that im just gonna start ordering all 4340 chromoly parts for the axles.

Thanks! Wow you're right, yours is the only runner I've ever seen with the same graphics as my '89. Sweet looking rig!
I have another STC on order, should be here any day now. I loved it! The only problem I had was with the stitching in the rear corners when pulled tight. They started to bust after a year or two. This time I will strengthen them with black marine grade stitching to keep them from busting. I saw somewhere that somebody made an install kit to keep from having to drill all the holes in the body, but I can't find it.

I've been searching his site for the link but I haven't found it again. I don't remember if its a kit or instructions. I think there was also a write up on 4x4wire.com somewhere

Runner was street legal I still chose to drive it over my Blazer... Who cares what people think, they just don't know about all the fun they are missing out on

new trailer
Well I was on my way to the Toyota dealership to price a new center console when I spotted a trailer sitting in a local tractor dealership lot.
Being in the market & having priced new ones at around $2000 I was interested to see this used one sitting there. All it needed was some new tires.
Well $800 later I drove away pulling my new (used) trailer...
