we'll get you straightened out. A truck built for mud racing is not ideal for the type of trails the group of people you met like to do.
first order of buisness is to put those 40inch boggers up for sale and get some reasonable tires. Bud with his half bald 32s did some of the hardest trails up there. The goal is a nice center of gravity, a solid suspension and driveline, and bumpers/winches etc. We'll talk more specifics soon, hardest part is budgeting yourself so you dont let your project become a financial disaster. That frame rust is more than a little scary, i wish i'd looked it over while at the camp. I dont surf many of the forums so i completely missed this thread.

it wont be the last time you tear the front axle down so such knoweldge is quite useful. The test is doing it by yourself.
Look on your boggers and find out exactly what size they are. Without knowing i think they are ~ 40 inches. I'd like to see you swap those out for some 36x12.50 TSL-SXs or 37x12.50 MTRs (what brian was running for a size reference). Either of those will work alot better on the rocks than the boggers.
After you get different tires then we can start working the center of gravity down with better suspension, making the driveline bullet-proof with some longs and a front locker, and other things like vented front rotors etc to make it safer.

The boggers are 39.5x18x15.
If I get the longfields in soon, I may just keep them on there.

Thanks, it is a labor of love to get it where I want it.
Another item was checked off the list today, just needs to be installed. Got my tube doors in from Marlin Crawler. Very nice for $150 shipped. One small problem. They welded the latch on the wrong side for the driver's door. No biggie, cut it off & re-weld it on the right side.
I hope to mod these into "soft doors" eventually, complete with a zip out window.

Well I got the tube doors mocked up for now, I hope to have them chopped down a bit & welded by this weekend.

The doors are not the 1st gen doors, they were sold out & discontinued. They asked if I wanted 3rd gen doors that were longer. I said OK, I can have them cut down to fit.
I took the old mirrors off the stock doosr and mounted them on the A pillar like this. Works pretty good, but they are really small.
Finished doors should look something like this until I mod them for soft windows.

Yeah, I noticed that too Wabbit. This was my first purchase from Marlin & I thought it could have been a little smoother. I ordered 1st gen. doors on their website 2 weeks before the Jambo. Three days before I left for Tellico, I called to check on the status. I was informed that they were sold out of 1st gen doors & would not be restocking. I asked if they had planned to let me in on this anytime soon as I had already placed my order. They could not "find" my order so asked if I wanted 3rd gen doors for the same price. I agreed & got what you see above. I called to say that the order was welded wrong, but no big deal, I just wanted to let them know as I wanted to be able to purchase from them in the future with confidence.
I will give them another chance with my next order, whatever that may be.

I also finally got around to cleaning up the truck from SE4RJ3. Tyler helped me wash it up so I let him drive in the yard to park it. He said he was ready for SE4RJ4! We'll see...
