Very nice... lose the rear bumper. Thats my only criticism. Front axle, short wheelbase, and fuel injection... thats a keeper.

x2 on the bumper or mod it to mount it up a little higher. That reciever looks like it is a class 2 1.25" kinda a small. you could cut off the little reciever, Flip the bumper to gain some clearance and inset a 2" reciever...
Get a set of seat covers.
-other than that I would have to say very nice truck with a ton of potential.
I love my '81 Trekker but there are times I wish I had found a nice clean '85 w EFi

looks like a new AM radiator, Plastic?

Thanks for all the kind words. I paid 3700 for it without the tires on it. Still messing with it getting the smog cert for it so its been a little more expensive initial investment than i hoped for. but it has potential and shouldn't lose too much value.

The rear bumper:
Im not too fond of the rear bumper either. The reciever in it seems pointless and dont plan on towing anything with it. My main duty with this truck will be hauling my dirt bike around to the mountains with occasionally snowboarding trip. Going to try and fab a bumper that hugs the body a little more and wraps around the underside of the rear corners of the bed.

Stripes:
I dont know if i really like the stripes yet but dont think removing them will look any better. Im going to let them sit like that and keep the original look flowing.

Plans for this truck are to make it rock solid reliable and modify as i see fit. Havent really driven it too much yet so my modification list is on the short side. As i know the modifications just keep coming after you start.

The seats:
The seats are from a celica, not sure on the year but they are really comportable with all sorts of adjustments on them. I would like the put a bench seat in it seeing as how the console in the middle has a broken lid. The blue bugs the crap out of me and space behind the seats is virtually nothing with them in there.

x2! I'll be modding out the 4WD capabilities of my truck... but in the end she'll have a decent paint job and the original decals. They just SCREAM 80's. But, its your truck.

Actually I also thought about doing a WWII bomber theme with the hot chick and death count on the side and stuff. (The death count will stand for trails, victimized shoppping carts, squirrels, hey know knows!

If i ever repaint it for any reason i will definitely install new decals that look new and fresh. They just seem to go with the style of the interior and what not.

man o man, makes me miss the heck out of my 85.. damn near identical to mine when i got it. i also fought with DEQ emmision tests at first.. did a full tune up and ran a bottle of "heet" in the gas and she made it with flying colors, dont know what all you have to do in cali but that worked for me.
