Hi all

I have a musty or dusty smell in my truck.. It seems like its coming from the vents.


I shampooed seats and carpets and tried to clean up the plastic vent hose under the steering wheel just to make sure it was not coming from the interior.

Steam cleaned the engine and undercarriage just to make sure it was not oil on the engine.
I also had it checked for an exhaust leak and have nothing

Its a dusty or musty smell I feel it in my nose.. messing with my allergies.

Anyone seen anything like this. I know on newer models there is a cabin air filter behind the glove box. I took apart my glovebox and this model does not have an air filter there.

Is there another air filter for the cabin that I should be looking for.

 

That vintage does not have a cabin air filter. You'll likely have to pull the ducts out to get the dirt and grime out along with cleaning the interior fan.

 

Check and make sure you don't have a rats nest inside your blower fan for heat&AC.
