So i was going to replace my lock cylinder but now I can't seem to get it figured out. On top of that this guy is supposed to have another piece on it that snapped off because old and I'm wondering how crucial it is to being able to install and or unlock the steering wheel. I can get that thing back in I can spin it pretty freely but I don't think it's able to do what it needs to do to unlock the steering wheel and actually let me insert the new lock cylinder in.

A piece snapped off of this and I think it's what actually presses on some sort of mechanism obviously but I don't know what or how to fix it or get past it.

And I don't know where to go to fix that but no matter what I do I can't get that N to change. Apparently it's supposed to?
