I'm an idiot, help me out.

Drivin an '85 SR5 pickup, my dads first vehicle that he passed on to me . Now it's my first vehicle. I took a loot at my tires and...Mongomery Ward? Somehow I think these tires could be even older than my truck, and they're more cracked than the road I'm driving on. This being my first vehicle, I have no clue as to what all these numbers on the tire mean. P225 75R15. I need to buy some new tires and I'm wondering how big I could fit on here, truck is totally stock but anyone with a toy knows that they sit high.

Check out http://www.tirerack.com/tires/tirete....jsp?techid=46 to see what the numbers stand for. You could probably fit 32" with little rubbing on the stock rim and I've heard of people saying 33s will fit will little rubbing. I'm sure more people will chime in soon.

31.10.5015
or
32.11.50 both fit my yota and yours stock
and look nice
if you gonna be offroading and live in a muddy climate get mud terrin..more sandy and rocks you could get all terrain. 33 inch tires would fit but only with a 5 spd, that is if your not regearing... and you might not wanna go above 11.50 wide.. pizza cutter 9.50 wide would fit in a 33 for sure..

i have the 32s in mudkings and they rock on the mud and a set of 31s to dd in the snow and nice weather...

FoolOnastool,
Congrats on your first vehicle. well if you haven't gotten a chance to figure out the numbers on your tires here is some help. For example, your tire numbers are 225-75-15

225 means the width of the tire
75 is the height of the sidewalls
15 is the diameter of the inner circle of the tire.
I would look into some 32X11.50x15. Don't go too big, unless you plan on lifting your truck then go bigger. Hope that helps. Later

Ok thanks for the help everyone. I'm glad my first vehicle was a Toy and not some p.o.s because now I'm never going to buy any different. My family has gone through 4 vehicles since I was born. 3 of them were yotas we still have them, and one of them was a brand new ford. Tranny went out in 2 weeks and the engine completely died after 3 months.
