i have an 85 efi 4runner tcase question

what is a better idea going lower gears in my tcase or getting a doubler kit.im not to sure wich would be a stronger way of getting lower geared.

im going to match my gears to my tires in my axles but the 22re isnt quite the power i need for the hills here in humboldt

It's a slippery slope, I started with a single 4.7 now I want more. so doubles are coming real soon. But if you start with doubles you'll have more gear options and you can always add 4.70 with time. Doubles is a more expensive set up.

Marlin seems to be the stronger set up, as far as I can tell.

i can get the whole setup from my buddies rolled crawler for 600 is that pretty fair priced its a pretty new assembled doubler kit

never used rebuilt toyota tcase with TG 4.7 creeper gears installed top shift $695 Also have doubler with 2.28 crawl boxes for $550 here is what he sent me what would u do

he is going to build an older jeep so im trying to get parts off of his xtra cab 85 pickup.wich he made into a crawler for the hills

I put in 4.7 cases for customers all the time who latter want the 2.28 low range and wished they had gone double. Money wise its cheaper to go with a 4.7 case and faster but we do both. What hill you climbing the river bar in ferndale?

devils backbone is hard on the clutch, and centerville is way to loose to be burning the clutch.lower gears would be less strain on the whole drivetrain

if you can get the used stuff for 600 go for it will the shafts work for you as well ie same wheelbase? I couldnt build it cheaper than that

ive got 5.29 spooled in the rear and 5.29 open in the front but soon to be detroit in the front

yes its mine it's as low as I can go i'm cleaning up for a move and not charging any core charges

both do great work also like bumpers from t moore trying to have some fabbed up for sale. I'm moving into a larger location here in Redway don't want to drag cores around with me
