Hot start issue

Ok, so have to say i am new to toyota's from jeeps. I bought a 85 4x4 from a kid that put on a 36/33 weber. So far i have removed all smog equipment, and replaced intake and exhaust gaskets, plus tune. He also had the return from fuel pump going to the vent tube on the tank, which is now fixed. I am having a issue restarting the truck after it has warmed up and i stop at store or something it will not restart unless i press gas pedal to the floor. I have searched but have not had much luck. Before i fixed the vent line i figured the pressure in tank might have been forcing gas past the floats bit it still does it after fixing vent. Any help wluld be appropriated

Presuming you have a Weber 32/36 . . . and reading "forcing gas past the floats" made me think of fuel pressure. Is there a pressure regulator on the fuel line?

Some regulators have a marked setting on them, so you don't necessarily need a gauge. A picture is worth 999 words.

I'm not positive but that may not adjust down to 2.5 psi. That pump is definitely way more than is needed.
