Problem solved:

EACV was blown through, its a 377 dollar dealer item so i guess ill just plumb it out of the system.

The EACV is the electronic air control valve, it takes exhaust gasses and pulsates them into the intake and it takes cold intake air and pulsates them into the exhaust for a cleaner burn for emissions. I guess it switches back and forth depending on rpm and load, anyways the diaphragm that pulsates the air must be blown or partially occluded, the hiss is the diaphramg giving away under pressure, dumping o2 depleted air into the intake, causing the engine to die because there is no oxygen.

thanks for all your help i appreciate it rokblok!

I didn't even think about the air injection system. I presume that's what you are referring to, based on your description. My truck has long been rid of it, way before the swap. So I didn't think about it. Lol

Glad you figured it out!! Good work!! Always glad to give folks false information and steer them away from actually fixing their problem... My specialty... Lol

Yah the air injection system, the thing the plastic keg attaches to... i threw all the smog stuff out the first week i got my 79 and my 86 so i never really learned how it worked or how it fails. I think there isnt a lot of info on the 4 important smog pieces because most people just get rid of them, stupid california and our smog laws! The cool thing is with them on the engine actually performs really well, with the ebcv and eacv hac and the egr all cleaned and working properly im expecting to get a lot more mpg out of this rig.

because it was blowing past the carb had a ton of soot in it beyond the first plate, got some seafoam to run through it so im curious to see if theres a bit of a driveability increase after this tank of gas.
