Ok here it goes I have a 1984 toyota with a 22re swap. My alternator keeps going out so I'm just going to swap in a gm 1 wire alternator my question is I have a brand new alternator sitting in my grage i just cant figure out if it will work for the swap. My alternator only has a red and a brown wire on the back of it and all the wiring diagrams iv found show the gm alternator having at least 3 or 4 wires? Im trying to post pics but I can't figure out how Thanks for ur time.

 

There are many threads on installing a CS144 GM alternator, I suggest that you do a search.
