Fule problem on 84.4x4.22r, need help?
i have a 84' 22r 4x4 pick-up. i just replaced the head gasket and all the outhers, after i got the intake on and the motor back together, their is a fule problem, the gas window on the carb dose not fill up with gas. I was told that i had to pirme the fule pump befor i put it in. So I filled a bottle up with gas and did so,"gas shot out of the fule pump". so i put it back on and started my truck it ran fine for a little wile,"gas WAS in the window"then it died. after all the gas in the window was used, it would not pull more gas.
my book dose not show fule lines very well. Can anyone help? has anyone had the same problem after removing+installing the intake? any help would be vary helpfull.

if i am understanding u right then you disconnected the line from the tank to the fuel pump and put it in a glass of gas and it ran, right?
or did you prime the fuel line engine side of the pump, then it pumped the gas into the carb?
is it a ele intank or ele on frame or mechanical cam ran pump??
if it is a cam pump disconnect the line @ the fuel filter outlet and put the line in a small gas can and see if it runs. if ele, check fuses...can you hear it turn on and prime when ign is turned on?
sounds like maybe something in tank or a badly kinked line.

its a cam ran fule pump, and i primer the pump befor i put it on, " got gas in the pump", then i put the line from the fule tank in the bottle. i couldnot tell in it sucked or blew, it looked like it bubbled. but no gas went to the carb window. i put a spear fule pump in and even tried it, it was the same no gas,
Gas would drip out but not spray,i guess i should trace the lines back, maybe i got some mixed up, me hanys book is y, does not show the lines vare well.
thanks
