Front end help

i'm workin on a wheelin rig, 84 pickup. do i need that link that goes to the front axle? its causing problems with the lift and i wanna throw it away but i dont know what it would be like to go without. ideas opinions facts?

That link prevents axle wrap when braking. Basically, it prevents brake dive. If all you do is wheel the truck, then no you don't need it. You can remove it and not worry about it.

I think hes talking about the torque rod. The plain metal rod going to the frame??

yeah its the thing dc is talking about, theres a bracket about 6" tall on the front axle, then a rod about 1.5' long and half inch diameter that goes up to the frame.
