Front Calipers

I'm hoping that you guys can help me
I have heard that many of the 4x4 trucks were available with upgraded front calipers, like dual or four piston. If so which years were these available and on what types of trucks?

do you know if they will bolt up to a 2wd truck?

Thanks for the help

Bob

Not just the V6's, all 4wd trucks/4Runners came with the 4-piston design. The early V6's just had larger pistons. After 1990, all were once again the same but with the larger pistons.

Looking at the parts places, the 2wd/4wd calipers look totally different in mounting. I don't think they would swap.

A possible swap might be going to 1 ton brakes. You might need to use a 1 ton rotor also. Find a friendly parts house and compare.

NOTE: I only looked at 91 since you had not mentioned a year
