They say there is, but I've yet to find one. I'm presuming you have an x-cab '84. Some trucks came with a two-piece, some came with single piece. And from what I can gather, it's a matter of happening to find one that's like yours (same wheelbase and generation maybe?) and swapping it out.

On a side note, my local 4x shop said for me to leave my two-piece in (I was gonna have a single made) because it allows more flex on the longer wheelbase trucks. They said you can get more flex from a single joint versus a DC. Don't quote me, it's just what I was told...

From the research I've done, some LWB toyota trucks came with a Single and some came with two drive shafts. All you have to do is hunt down one that came with a single drive shaft in a junk yard and grab it.

My double is working fine for the moment, so I'm not gonna mess with it. I've got a buddy running a two-peice driveshaft with 4 inches of lift and he doesn't have any issues with that.

Mud, I noticed in that article that it states there is a DC on the rear section of the shaft. Mine doesn't have a DC there, only a single.

Can anyone tell me if this was for the later models (3rd gen trucks) or am I missing a DC on my 2nd gen?

from what I have seen, 84 and 85 ext cab 22r/re 5 spd 4wd's had 2 piece drive shafts. 86-88 had 1 piece. I have swapped a 1 piece onto a my 84 and 85 Toyota with no problems.
