Is there a certain orientation on the front and rear drive shaft? I know the hole pattern will only let it go on 2 ways, does it make a difference?

 

As long as its a balanced drive shaft you should be fine. I have R&Red many on many different rigs and only thing I worry about is on the 2 piece ones. Those splines need to stay in the same orientation for balance.

 

Ok Fish, Mine doesn't have a split drive shaft, just the front and the rear so I think I'm good. I got the spacers today but they will have to wait to be put in, the high today was 30* not going to happen would help

 

I feel ya on that. Almost did my slave and master for my clutch today. But decided family time was more important.

 

Yes, the phasing does matter! Consult your manual, Google is your friend.

 

Well, I've looked at the FSM and all it says is to "mark" the flanges before removal. This assumes that it was put in correctly in the 1st place. All I can go by is the pictures of how they have the flange yokes aligned with the flange yokes in the same plane on both ends of the front and rear drive shafts. So when you insert the sleeve yoke into the propeller shaft you have to make sure the flange yokes are are the same plane. The FSM really doesn't go into the orientation or phasing other then the pictures showing the exploded view of the drive shafts.
