Do factory Xtracab, 22RE, 4x4, SR5, solid front axle Trucks exist?

I've searched around the forums as best as I can, but can't seem to find an answer. As everyone knows, the 1985 model year Truck was the only year that came with a solid front axle and 22R-E engines from the factory. I'm trying to figure out if Trucks with this configuration were also available as Xtracab, 4x4, AND SR5 off the line. As far as I understand it, the closest thing to hitting all these options are '85 Trucks with N66S in the VIN, however, it looks like these only came with either carbureted 22R engines or turbo 22R-TE engines. I see that '85 Trucks with N56S in the VIN are listed as TOYOTA SR5 XTRA-CAB, but it doesn't specify 4WD, so I'm assuming those are 2WD. I don't know which '85 VIN, if any, covers all the options. So, do factory Xtracab, 22R-E, 4x4, SR5, solid front axle Trucks exist?

Yeah, that's mostly why I'm scratching my head. I'm basically trying to figure out what the corresponding VIN would be for a truck with that setup, so I can tell the difference between that and one that had the carburetor swapped for fuel injection.

Well as others have mentioned it was definitely an option. If you're wondering about a particular truck you can use yotatech's VIN decoder to figure out if it started life as an xtracab and / or SR5; I'm not sure the 22re vs 22r is information included in the VIN, but if you can get the model number (located on the same badge under the hood as the VIN) that should have all the information you need.

Great info. Thanks! The ID plate under the hood with the model codes would be able to determine whether an '85 Truck came stock in the configuration in question. Now if anyone has one with the correct model codes, I'd be interested to see what digits 5 through 8 are on the VIN.

I had a feeling that might be the VIN for the Truck with all the options. And the ID plate under your hood includes "MSCEA"?

Thank you. I think it’s pretty clear that the caaarguide reference needs to edit their table showing that 1985 VINs containing RN66S can come in that configuration.

Agreed. I've only seen a couple others speced the same over the years. This is actually my second time owning this truck and I won't let it go again!

A friend of mine has a 1985 4X4 Xtra Cab with a straight axle, 22RE, A/C, P/S, and 5 speed but, I don't know if it is an SR5. I haven't seen him in a few years or I'd get more info for you. It's white with gray interior. It "might" have a sun roof? I don't think it had electric windows?
