did i get yukon or just pay for yukon
I ordered a set of Yukon gears for my truck and they just came in today. To me this packaging combined with the stamping on the gears that doesn't match up to yukons part numbers leads me to believe that i might have gotten screwed. The stamping reads 14283 T571 L10. I payed the yukon price so i just wanted to know if i actually got what i payed for.

There are only one or two companies that are actually tooled up to make gear sets. They will make gears for several name brand companies, with a very select few requiring certain specifications for their gears. At least this is how it was when I was wrenching for a living(I was told this by a gear manufacturer that I was good friends with for a good while).
It may be that Yukons and brand X and brand Y are all made the same, with differents packaging. If you purchased them through an authorized Yukon retailer, give them a call to verify before you clean them off and install/run them. If you didn't purchase from an authorized Yukon retailer, then hopefully they are the correct ones and you will be ok.

Called yukon yesterday and was told that they couldn't really help. And that I should call the vendor that I purchased them from. Well that just seems dumb to me, if the vendor knowingly sent me suspect gears gears of course he's gonna say there true yukons! I'm sending them back, the gears were just the icing in the cake to a horrible ordeal anyways
