I ran a full detroit in the rear with a tru trac up front in my old '85 and it worked great! I am now using a tru trac up front again in my new project with the power brute clutch LSD in the rear (bought used for a killer deal). Still building my truck, but the guy (Mattb124) I bought them from used this setup on his '85 through fourdyce and the rubicon with no prob. Said the tru trac had a few hicups, but the power brute was mostly point and shoot. So we'll see how it works.

IMO to each his own, LSD all around are better for on road which is why I am going this route. let me know how you like em!

I am thinking of an LSD up front. Almost all the time I am in 4wd between November and March is in snow of some kind- at least most of the time I get stuck. Seldom do I lift a front tire under those conditions. I have an Aussie Locker being shipped to me as we speak.

I do a lot of driving down FSRs in winter and think and LSD would help.

Any trouble on slick roads with an LSD upfront in 4wd? I've heard mixed reviews- some say yes, some no.

I have not driven on slick roads yet. but it did feel tighter than I expected on the local trails and I think it might be a problem in 4 high at higher speeds. I will be going slower if 4W drive is engaged mountain trails and sandy beaches.

Moderate to be sure, this could be a really great addition to traction aid devices.

It will NEVER work for heavy offroading. even if their claims of 50% are true, thats still nowhere near what you need. I've been online for 1/2 hour now looking at various team rock racers. If this product was good enough for heavy offroading, they'd be using it. I've yet to find a single one, but there are more to check.

I'm not trying to bust your balls here man. LSDs are good for the normal offroader. probably for a great majority of people here. But its not a miracle machine.

I think you've got a cool, and capable truck. If you make it up to colorado sometime, you should look me up. We can go wheeling, and i'll buy you a beer.

The specific situation where I think an LSD might benefit me is when I'm driving down a road in a foot of slushy snow where there are already a few ruts from other vehicles and the steering pulls this way and that grabbing where ever it has traction. A steering stabilizer did help this to some extent.

Steamworks Brewery in Durango 2nd week in August Cajun Boil and micro brewery. And i will buy the first round.
My next off topic thread may be " when its a sin to not drink a beer" and that cajun boil would be one example!

If it doesn't conflict with CO4RJ, then I'm down.
