Clutch Problems
Ok first of all I don't currently have this truck at my place to work on so I won't be able to check anything for a few days at least, I'm just looking for some ideas.
So a Little While Ago I decided I needed a wheeling rig so I found myself a nice (for here) 85 pickup, 4WD, Manual, Xtra-cab. Me and my buddy Mitchell went and picked it up and I drove it home with no problems, I left it at his place that evening knowing I'd be working on it a bit the next morning. So the next day came and we cleaned out the cab ( far amount of junk left in it when I Bought it) we got er cleaned up nice and vacumed out so it was time to take her out for a real test drive, we took it down to his mud pit drove through it a few times, went through a few small trails he's go in the backyard and everything went fine 4WD worked great.
Ok so later on that day after helping him fix the tailgate on his truck me and anouther friend took it down to the pit for a photo opp
it went fine for a while, same as last time when all of a sudden she didn't seem to have the power anymore, RPM was up just fine and the engine sounded fine but she wasn't pulling through like she should. So I popped it into 4L got out turned around and went back through to the other side ( still not the pull it should have, then I stopped, told my buddy to hop back in the truck cause something wasn't right so we were heading back to the house. He jumps in, I let the clutch out, the engine revs and we start rolling backwards down the hill, I had next to no pull now.
We called up my buddy and he came down with his jeep and hauled me back to the house. So Now I need to find out what needs to be fixed. I think the clutch must be catching some because if out let the clutch out when in gear without reving up the RPMs she'll stall out.
So What I'm asking is what should I look for first and some pointers on how I should go about doing it, I'm pretty new at working on vehicals and any pointers would be helpfull.
