A/C Idle Up

My AC wasn't running at idle. Discovered adjusting the AC amplifier behind the glove box solved that problem. Next problem is the AC idle up doesn't appear to working. Is there anything I can adjust or check. Thanks in advance.

Yep, make sure the vacuum likes to the idle up valve and VSV are not clogged. Very small lines and they clog easily. Easy test is to bypass the VSV and plug the vacuum line from the intake directly to the idle up valve. If clear, this should engage that valve, then the white knob will turn the idle speed up and down (you'll hear the bypass air hissing through the valve):

Then re-test with the VSV and if you hear/feel it click on and off, see if it is internally clogged.

Might just be the idle up speed is not high enough. The idle-up and AC amp. work together. AC amp sees if engine RPM is high enough for AC to run. If so, it kicks on the compressor and the idle-up valve. However, if the RPM falls, due to the compressor load, the AC amp. kills the compressor and idle-up VSV. So if the idle-up is not working or not set high enough, no AC at idle. Generally set the fast idle 100-200 RPM above normal idle, but not too fast or you'll be posting about why your idle goes crazy when you press on the brake pedal.
