I'm trying to replace my fuel pump in my 88 4-Runner and it took it all I had to loosen the nut on the fuel line. In the process I may have bent the fuel line near the hanger assembly. Should I try using the hanger assembly and see if the truck runs okay OR bite the bullet and replace the hanger assembly. If I replace the hanger assembly is there a source other than the dealership? Below is a picture of the bent line. Vehicle is an 88 4Runner DLX with 2.4 I-4 EFI (non turbo)
Thanks for the reply. I finally received a new fuel pump from Rock Auto and pulled the hanger out. The fuel line does look more than 50% restricted. The insulator cap on the bottom of my fuel pump dissolved into goo so I ordered another fuel pump with the cap and waiting for it. I'll try to get it started but will probably need a solution to the bent fuel line. I can't find another hanger online anywhere and wondering if a different model would work?
Only 4 runner. Take a pic. And measure height of tank. I have a complete fuel tank at home. I would be willing to send you the one I have for 50 bucks. I am in Sacramento, CA. I am only assuming you are in the US
