So my heater core is clogged, I have a new one on the way but the back pressure after I turn the engine off is forcing coolant out of the exit hose. So I took the hose that feeds into the control valve and u-turned it and connected it to where the exit heater core hose goes. Im not sure how most people do this. But, is the way I did it going to be a problem?
Its at the lower right of the picture.

Also there are no visual kinks or anything in the hose. the only problem with the setup I can think of is somehow the coolant going threw the valve changes pressure of something.

yeah some was leaking in the cab from when it was building pressure past the hose. How would it get in the oil from disconnecting that line and re routing it?

Looks ok to me. Let us know how fun that heater core is to replace... Pics... Pics... Pics...

And if its pushing coolant out of the core, there is a leak... It should be completely sealed, even if it is clogged, and it just wouldnt be able to circulate coolant and keep the cab warm.
