I'm about to drop a lot of coin at Marlin crawler, but I need to know how tall my 4runner will be with the 4" lift and 35's (maybe 36's). Can someone here help me out and measure how tall their rigs are from the ground to the roof? I'm afraid my truck wont fit in my garage after lifting it with their kit... and there's a lot of thefts in my area.

I have their kit. My rig fits in the just garage fine. If I had lights or a roof rack, it would not fit. I am running 35"BFG MTs BTW.

 

At first it might be tall, but after one wheeling trip it will settle. Just really depends on how tall your garage door is.

I think it's going to be VERY close. As my junk sits now, I have a 3" lift and 33's and there's about 6" of clearance. If one of you guys can measure for me, It would really help me out. It would be a pain in the ass to deflate the tires everytime I park it!

 

My friend has an 88 with the Marlin 4" lift, and 35 MTZ's. I does fit in his garage, but it is close.

 

Well, if you wind up cutting it really close, you can just get out the ratchet-straps and compress the suspension (not fun) or let a ton of air out of the tires,

not very practical if it's a daily driver though, or you could just put barn doors on your garage, that'll give you like 3-4 more inches

Everyone's rig is going to be a little different, even if they give you measurements, there is a good chance they are only going to help you guess in the "ball park" of where you will be,

some people have heavy bumpers and winches, and some have spare tire racks or canopies, some have big storage units and fidges behind the back seats, all of which make every rig sit a little different, and then there is how hard they use it, like the Wabbit (who, btw offers comparative pricing and unmatched customer service) said, they will settle after the first trail outing

but they will also sag "quicker" if they are used hard every weekend, compaired to the guy that SASes to run 37 inch A/T's on 20 inch bling wheels and sees nothing more "hardcore" than a curb at the Cosco parking lot

 

I understand that everyones rig is different, but all I'm looking for is a ballpark. I live in a standard southwest tract home and the garage is not very tall. I just need a ballpark measurement before I blow 4k on modifications for my truck that will ultimately get stolen if it's parked outside.

 

well i have a 3in. body lift with 5in. springs and 35's and it fits in my garage without the roof rack on.

 

and my garage door is 87 1/4 in. talls, hopefully that give you a good idea if it will fit

My 85 4Runner on 39.5 Iroks w/ a 5" lift fit in my garage, but I have an 8 foot door.

 

check on your garage door opener(assuming you have one) for an upper travel limit adjuster, u might be able to get a few more inches at the entrance to the garage if that is what your concerned about

 

You mentioned living SW...snow shouldn't be a factor. For you guys with tight tolerances between the top of your rig and the garage door, be mindful of pulling into or out of your garage if your tires will be riding up on top of a couple inches of snow. I had a client that had this happen to him a few winters ago...wedged his rig and did a fair amount of damage...it is something a person wouldn't think of until it was too late!

 

I took some measurements and found out my garage opening is only 82 1/2" tall. Currently, my truck (with an estimated 3" lift and 33's with worn tread) is 73" tall. That leaves me with less than nine inches which really worries me considering that Marlin's lift tends to be a lot more than a 4" lift overall.

 

If you have 9 inches of extra room and only going to a 35 that leaves you with 8 inches. Now put the lift on and take into consideration the 3 inch on in already, (if it is coming off) and that leave you with 11inches of lift to play with. It should def. fit.
