85 xtra cab rattle?
everytime I go over some bumps it seems me cab is bouncing off the frame?? I checked the cab and the bed and both are solid. Checked the rear shocks, they are ok(figured this would be the cheapest and easiest to start with), just replaced fronts and ball joints early this year so I assume they are good. It sounds like its coming from my corner of the cab behind me. Possible gas tank rattle? Also sounds like it "pops" almost like your pullin a nail thru tin the wrong way and it "pops" through the metal.
Side Note: I did notice me cab corners and up to about middle of the door in the rear are rusting extremely bad, any help on what to do on this is greatly appreciated.
As always thanks guys/and gals

I would say put i jack under the cab and try to lift it off the frame. That'd probably be a good start. Look for anything that could have rusted through or maybe bolts that have came lose and fallen out. Beat on stuff with a rubber mallet until you find it. Thats all i got for ya man.

I had a rattle coming from behind me on the passenger side on my '93 xtra cab. Found it after a year or two of dealing with it. It was the rear seatbelt bracket that bolts in under the small storage lid and comes up through the cab. The bracket must have moved forward when I was torquing it down and it was rubbing up against the sheet metal.

my bad, still havent found anything will check this weekend
did find out while replacing my muffler that the drivers side frame from mid door to mid tire is about to bust through
so now I dont know if its even worth my time and effort anymore, Im so burnt out on this truck, nothing but problems from the get go. I bought the thing at night (first mistake), and I was out of a vehicle at the moment (2nd mistake), had the $ and didnt care (3rd mistake), and to top it all off it was raining so I didnt bother getting underneath cuz the guy said there wasnt any rust(4th mistake)
needless to say never gunna do that again.... thanks for the replys guys.
