Arrow 85 Utility Truck VS 85 Pickup

Is there any difference (wheelbase, performance, ect) between a utility Toyota pickup (pic attatched) and a normal Toyota pickup?

I was thinking I could get the utility one (http://sfbay.craigslist.org/pen/car/725382331.html) for maybe a little less than $1000 and take the bed off and put an all-pro flat bed on it.... Would that be a good price? Good idea?

ANY input will be GREATLY appreciated!!!

Thanks!

It should be the same as a regular truck, the gearing might be a little diferent because of the added weight of the utility box, but thats just a guess on my part. its hard to tell in the picture, but the frame rails might be a little longer in the back to help support the utility box, again just a guess on my part. If it runs good and you can get it cheaper then go for it, remove the utility box and put a flat bed on it and you will have a nice truck.

I wonder if they changed the gears for a heavier truck? If they did I'm sure it would be a great start for a crawler, it is an 85.

Most utility boxs are a direct swap. The dozen or so I've ever used have been anyhow. They just pull the factory bed and mount the new one. Maybe some gap filling shims are added, usually hardwood shaped to fit the frame. And thats it. Gear swaps would have been done after delivery probably, if at all.

yeah I wasn't sure if they would have or not, but it would have been sweet.
