Just wondering if there is a speedo cable that will work for the 85 runner that anyone knows about. Close to a $100 sucks since I replaced it a year ago. I don't know if other years or the pickups are the same cable. Any info would be great

My son got one for his 91 from Checker a few years ago. Don't remember how much but way less than OEM.

Why did yours only last a year? Kinked or maybe heat? I put some heat wrap around mine when I put a header on. Heat took mine out...........once.

I also put some lube in even though it was new.

 

For some reason the 85 is different that's why I am wondering if a different year truck would be the same cable. The cable probably only lasted a year because this thing hates me I think. You can find cables for anything after 85 in aftermarket but not this old girl

 

Maybe bring yours in to a local parts store and compare to another year they stock?
