85 runner flat bed to front seats

My truck came without rear seats, which is fine with me, but I would like to have a completely flat bed up to the front seats so I can camp in it. I know Toyota shipped the early runners without rear seats and included some sort of insert that made the bed exactly the way I want it. Does anyone know where I can find one of these inserts? The other option is to fab something, and that's going to be $$$$.

Bah! I'm going to have trouble fitting as it is. The last thing I need is that seat bottom taking an extra 6" of space.

Plus, I don't want to be able to actually drive others around in my truck!

you are looking for a factory rear seat delete. They only come up so often.
from what I have seen/heard they are kind of rare.

I would just make one, hinged so that I had some functional storage space...cheaper than finding the factory version

I thought about making something out of plywood that I have laying around. The carpet kit that's in the car would cover it up. And I may just end up doing that. I wanted to find out if the rear seat delete was something that was something that I could actually find first.

6'2". I used to sleep in the bed of my Tacoma, and I had be completely diagonal. I know the bed measured about 6"4" or 6'6", so I learned that I really do need all the space I can get.

Like I said, the truck came without the rear seats, and their absence planted this idea in my head.

trade you my '87 x-cab. It's got a 6ft bed with no seats! j/k I know what you're talking about. I've seen 1st gen runner with a seat delete. I'll see if I can track down where the kit was purchased.

Thanks. I tried a little searching around on Google, but you know how that goes. I figured there might be some aftermarket delete somewhere. If I like the design of it, I'd be willing to pay a little more.

Mine came with the rear seat delete thingy, fiberglass panel. I am 6'0 and have to lay diagonal to fit, but I do. It might not be quite long enough. If you have seen one, they have about a 5" lip on the front side, to keep stuff in the bed area.

Yeah, I figured it would be tight anyway. It's still better than setting up a tent and taking it down every night. I'm usually by myself anyway, so I can stretch out whichever way I want.
