85 Pickup Fresh Rebuild NO Start Help PLZ

Hey guys need some help here. Just rebuilt my first 22r. So right now I have the entire thing rebuild and slapped back together. When I go to start it cranks fine but it wont fire up. Thinking something with the timing. Itll try to start but not completely. I set the timing at it told me in the book on the rebuild;

Had crank at 12 o clock same as the cam. With piston 1 a TDC. The distributor was put in as it said in the book also. Any ideas or clues would be helpful.
Thanks

Did you line the rotor up with #1 plug wire outlet on the cap? Is your TDC 360 off?

Yes the rotor is where it should be pointing at plug 1. Not sure what you mean by TDC 360 being off?
Thanks for your reply Z

It could be on a exhaust stroke instead of intake. Try turnin your crank 360 and then stab your dizzy again. I have made the mistake of bein 360 out many a time. If that dont work lemme know.

I think you mean 180 degrees off not 360.

Check the basics; do you have any spark at all and are you getting fuel ?

when you had the engine apart you lost fuel pressure, it will crank pretty long to suck the fuel back up to the injectors. about how long has the engine been cranked since the rebuild?

Fuel Air Fire

What makes you think it's a timing issue. Are the spark plugs getting fuel?

Alright so made sure the the crank and the cam eyes were both at 12 o clock. So i sprayed some starting fluid into the carb and tried to fire her up. Cranked for three secs nothing. Cranked another three secs and it kinda started for about 2 seconds and then died. Tried playing with the distributor to maybe find a sweet spot. But had no luck. Spayed a lil more starting fluid and once again kinda wanted to start. Thinkin im not getting any fuel. I know im getting fuel to the fuel line but, maybe i have lines going to carb hooked up wrong?? Does anyone have a picture or illustration of the gas lines to the carb. Any more ideas im getting closer and closer.

Thumbs up No Start After Rebuild

Having issues with my rig. First 22r/motor I've ever built. So have the motor complete setting in the truck. When I go to start it just cranks. Sounds good and cranks great but its a no go. First thought it was a timing issue but, found that wasnt the case. When spraying starting fluid it wants to starts up but dies once fluid is burnt up. I know i have spark and the timing is close. So now I realized I see no or smell no fuel. I have fuel coming to fuel lines but nothing is coming through the carb. May not have fuel/vacuum lines hooked up correct. Does anyone have a pick of their motor setup so i can compair. Thanks
Or here are my photos please check them out and tell me what you guys think.

Fuel pump?!? Pump eccentric? Gotta be in the delivery. Here's an old trick I learned years ago. I had a few fuel pumps go out while being in the bush. I now run an electric pump between the mechanical one and the carb (easy to pull thru a malfunctioning mech pump-a little harder to push thru one by mounting before the mech pump). You can pick up a cheap Mr Gasket electric pump (4-5 psi) for around $40. Wire the ground where it goes and the hot to a switch on a ign hot circuit. When not in use, just leave it, but when you need it (like now), just flip the switch and your golden.

Is there fuel visible in the carb site glass ? If there is you might have a plugged accelerator pump curcuit. Try looking down the throat of the carb and look for a stream of gas when you work the throttle. also what BigRob said about the fuel pump eccentric on the cam.
