4WD indicator switch

For my 3.4 swap I picked up a 4 cylinder gear driven transfer case that came from a 1985 4Runner EFI. The 4WD indicator switch on it only has one wire and I need one with two wires. What year trucks/4Runners with gear driven transfer cases have a two wire switch?

After 89-95 have the 2 wire but the plugs might change within those years. You may be able to just ground one of the wires to the body and be okay. Take a look at the schematic in a service manual (Hays).

Here's a pic (from MC's site) of a gear driven TC with a 2 wire switch. The case looks identical to mine so the switch should be interchangable. Maybe someone could look under their vehicle and see how many wires there are going to the switch, and if there are two, post the year of their vehicle. The switches on my old A340H and A340F are completely different, so I can't use them.

I briefly thought about grounding to the case, but thats not the way I want to go when there are switches available.

Thanks.

The switches swap just fine. I put my 2 wire 89 switch in the side of my 1 wire 87ish T-case. Works fine.

You have gear driven cases, correct?

Thanks guys . Looks like the switch behind either an '88 or '89 manual transmission will work. My original tranny is the infamous 3.0 V6 A340H with the integrated transfer case.
