Hey first time posting.. So I got a collection of toyota pickups.. I got a 88 2wd xtra cab long box.. Just certified for road.. I also have a 89 4x4 single cab with long box.. I need to fix the box for certification..was wondering if my 88 long box would fix my 89 pickup.. Yes the body's are different style.. But when measuring wheel base, length, mounts.. It look pretty bang on.. I will eventually try it.. Just wondering..

 

I know I've definitely seen 3rd gen pickup beds on 2nd gen pickup, so I would assume yes it will fit. They look kind of odd because the body lines don't match, but it should fit.

Are you referring to a standard bed as a "long box"? Toyota did make longbeds, but VERY rare to find one on an xcab body.

 

No I got the long box.. I was reading on how rare they are.. My neighbour has inherited one from his uncle (bought) brand new.. When he ordered the truck he wanted a long bed. The truck was made in japan and shipped here for that reason.. He gave the truck to his son.. But the son didn't think is was cool.. Ran weird so I pulled the sending unit and found a good crack in the fuel line.. Runs mint now 172000km 22re 300$ lol I will be test fitting this weekend.. Ya it will look weird.. But I got a box to pass safety.. Plan is to safety and made a homemade one after (89 single cab long)
