i'm thinkin about doing the chevy 350 or 283 swap in to my 85 yota i have 35s and 5.10 gears. how will it all hold up? it will be a daily driver of only like 10 miles a day. i will wheel it, a little bit of every thing (mud,trails,crawlin). o ya i will be useing stock toyota tranny.

 

stock tranny is not gonna take much abuse from sbc, but good luck

you have to body lift 3 inches to clear engine, i blew my rear first time out, so i swapped in a narrowed 9" ford axle, cooling is a must with an aluminum and electric fans, but you got bed space for that, also keep the wiringing really simple , and exhuast placement is fun, but all in all the power is amazing. oh and if you have the upgrade addiction its not a cheap swap

 

i just noticed it looks like your front axle is forward a lil bit, if so that should help with steering/ flex/ oil pan issues,

if you dont go bit your gonna want bump stops and lots of down travel
