22re using oil

This engine was rebuilt about 15000 miles ago. It goes through a quart of oil every 1000 miles. I don't think the rings seated properly. Is it to late to do anything to slow down the oil consumption?

Don't run synthetic oils, and go beat the snot out of it. Find a big mountain, and go up in 4th.

If that doesn't do it, you need another overhaul :s

i had an 85 pickup that took a quart every gas tank. also got >30 mpg believe it or not. for me, it penciled out that the oil was cheaper than gasoline by a long shot, with that sort of fuel econ. kept a case of pep boys special in the truck for less than a dollar a qt.

as long as it isnt in your water you're ok. and vice versa.
