22r skipping when cold

My dads 85 22r skips when cold, clears up and runs fine after a few minutes. It just started about a week ago, and I would search to find out the problem but I'm on my phone and I can't find where to search. What do I need to look at and how to fix the problem?

It misses?
Mine does the same thing, he needs to let it warm up more. 90% of carbed vehicles will do this.

Same issue here, thought about rebuilding the carb. My 87 never had this problem when new.

The only thing is that we have had the truck since last year and never had a problem like this before. The only thing I have done is adjust the idle on the carb after last winter. It seems like a misfire but it has been clearing up after awhile, but this morning my dad couldn't make it tri the doctor because it was acting up so bad. So are there any other ideas besides letting it warm up more?

i would rebuild the carb just to do it you know? if it has any more than 60k on the clock and hasnt been done its probably time anyway. i bet your problem will go away just because it didnt do this before a week ago. if it was always like that i might not suggest a rebuild, the fact that its getting colder could make it run funnier when cold too. my 22r does that(when its running). once it warms up its better. if it were me, i would readjust the carb to factory specs(using your fsm of course) and if that doesnt fix it go get a rebuild kit or throw a weber 32/36 on that beast.

My 84 is carb'd. It runs great, cold or hot. When its cold out, it idles high like it should, then idles down when I tap the pedal, once its warmed up. You may have a vacuum leak somewhere. Check the brake booster and all other vacuum hoses. Pinch the hose going to the booster in case the diaghram in the booster is busted. Check the choke operation. It can be stuck open and cause an improper fuel mixture which will cause a miss. Easiest way to do that, is pull air cleaner top off when its cold, turn the key on and it should cause the choke butterfly to close up the primary venturi. (Its the only flap visible on the carb top.) If that is working, I would say there is prob a vacuum leak or clogged carb passages.(Rebuild time)
